He has returned to catch the spirit of «vanitas», a classic but full of transcendent symbols with which visual artists try to remind viewers that life is fragile and short still life. There is always a stream under a paper boat. But in my picture the ship sails against the grain by a cloth embroidered in an oriental style reminiscent Yamato-e type or Hiroshige and is about to collapse in the middle of calm. I try to capture the moment of abandonment. The evocation of the final in the sense of vertigo of free fall. The time when the astrolabe * star no longer seeks nor sextant * finds the horizon. There is no longer a navigable future and stories printed on paper boat weigh too much. Undoubtedly, the chronicle of your life is the worst scripts you’ve written. Everything is broken, being loses control and is about to fall apart. The inorganic matter does not flow. And there is no intention. Only by being dragged and engulf the artifice of the embroidered motifs. * The sextant and the astrolabe appear in the background as seen a futurible still life.
